Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What kind of practice is Beacon Hormone & Wellness?
Beacon Hormone & Wellness is a telehealth-based hormone and lifestyle medicine practice serving adults throughout Washington State. We focus on identifying root causes of symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, low energy, and hormone imbalance, using personalized, evidence-based care—not rushed visits or one-size-fits-all solutions.
What conditions do you work with?
Insulin resistance and prediabetes
Type 2 diabetes (lifestyle-centered management)
Weight gain and metabolic dysfunction
Perimenopause and menopause support
Low testosterone in men
Thyroid optimization
Persistent fatigue related to metabolic or hormonal imbalance
Cardiometabolic risk assessment and prevention
Our goal is to improve how you feel now while also protecting your long-term health.
What is cardiometabolic health screening?
Cardiometabolic health looks at your risk for conditions such as heart disease, stroke, and metabolic disease — often years before symptoms develop.
Depending on your history and risk factors, evaluation may include:
Advanced lipid testing
Insulin and glucose markers
Inflammatory lab markers
Blood pressure assessment
Coronary artery calcium (CAC) scoring, carotid ultrasound testing when appropriate
We believe prevention should be proactive, not reactive.
Is this a primary care or urgent care practice?
Beacon Hormone & Wellness is not a traditional primary care clinic. Our focus is metabolic health, hormone balance, and cardiometabolic prevention through a structured telehealth model.
We support conditions closely tied to your care plan — such as thyroid optimization, insulin resistance, hormone shifts, and advanced preventive screening — but we encourage patients to maintain a relationship with a local primary care provider for urgent concerns, acute illnesses, and broader medical needs outside our specialty focus.
This allows us to stay deeply focused on the areas where we provide the most value.
What if I don’t currently have a primary care provider?
Many patients come to us seeking deeper support for metabolic or hormone concerns. While we manage conditions within our specialty focus, we recommend establishing care with a local primary care provider for acute illnesses, urgent needs, and comprehensive medical care outside our scope.
We are always happy to collaborate with other healthcare providers when appropriate.
Who is a good fit for this practice?
This practice is ideal for adults who:
Feel exhausted, stuck, or not like themselves
Have been told labs are “normal” but still feel unwell
Want a thoughtful, personalized approach to hormone and metabolic health
Are motivated to improve their health through lifestyle changes, not just medications
Who may NOT be a good fit?
This practice may not be a good fit if you:
Are looking for 24/7 on-demand care
Want medication without evaluation or follow-up
Need urgent or emergency medical services
Prefer in-person visits
Do you treat both men and women?
Yes. We work with both men and women, commonly addressing:
Low testosterone
Perimenopause-related symptoms
Fatigue and low energy
Weight gain and metabolic concerns
Brain fog and poor sleep
Is hormone therapy available through telehealth?
Yes. Hormone therapy can often be safely and effectively managed via telemedicine, depending on your medical history, symptoms, and lab results. All care is provided in accordance with Washington State regulations and clinical best practices.
Are labs and medications included?
Labs, imaging (including coronary artery calcium scans), medications, and supplements are billed separately. Insurance may be used for these services when possible.
All results are reviewed together in detail so you understand your numbers and your risk profile.
Do you accept insurance?
No. Beacon Hormone & Wellness is a cash-pay practice.
This allows for longer visits, more personalized care, and freedom from insurance-driven limitations.
You may still use insurance for:
Labs
Medications (when applicable)
How much does it cost?
We offer a transparent monthly membership that covers visits, follow-up care, and messaging.
Labs, medications, and supplements are not included.
Current pricing is listed clearly on our website under Pricing.
How often will I have appointments?
This varies based on your needs. Most patients:
Start with an initial evaluation
Have more frequent follow-ups early on
Transition to less frequent visits once stable
How does communication work between visits?
Secure messaging is available for non-urgent questions and follow-up needs.
Messages are typically answered within 1 business day.
What states do you serve?
We currently serve patients located in Washington State only.
You must be physically in Washington at the time of your telehealth visit.
Do you prescribe medications?
When appropriate, yes. This may include hormone therapy or other medications based on clinical need.
We emphasize lifestyle-first care and aim to minimize unnecessary medications whenever possible.
Is this a weight loss clinic?
We don’t offer quick-fix or crash dieting programs.
Weight changes often reflect deeper metabolic or hormonal imbalances. Our focus is improving physiology first — supporting insulin sensitivity, hormone balance, and metabolic health — so weight regulation becomes more sustainable.
When appropriate, medication options may be discussed as part of a comprehensive plan.
Do you offer GLP-1 medications?
When clinically appropriate, evidence-based medications may be considered as part of a broader treatment strategy. Decisions are individualized and made collaboratively after a thorough evaluation.
Safety and long-term sustainability are always priorities.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, there are no long term contracts. My goal is to help you as long as needed, not hold you hostage. Please provide 30 days written notice.
Appointment & Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. Payment in full is required at the time of booking to secure your initial consultation.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Initial visit fees are fully refundable or transferable to a new appointment time when changes are made at least 24 hours in advance.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are non-refundable.
Because appointment availability is limited, we appreciate your understanding and respect for this policy.
What makes Beacon Hormone & Wellness different?
Longer, unhurried visits
Root-cause, lifestyle-focused care

Telehealth convenience
Care grounded in compassion, integrity, and purpose
Not a "pill mill" that puts everyone on the same treatment protocol.

Ongoing follow-up visits as needed
Secure messaging between visits
Detailed lab interpretation and adjustments
